Adult Ministry - Study & Exploration

Sometimes you need more than worship, sometimes adults need study as much as children do.  Sometimes you need it to help strengthen your faith.  Sometimes you need it to help clarify your beliefs.  Sometimes it's just fun.  But no matter what the reason, study, whether it's straight Bible study or something more secular, should be a part of everyone's Christian experience.

Fortunately, Trinity provides a broad array of study opportunities; different topics, different times, different focus'.  But the end result is the same for you; your type of study on your time schedule.

Sunday Morning Adult Education Class (9:30 AM - 10:30 AM)
Nested comfortably between the two Sunday morning worship services, this class is a smorgasbord of topics ranging from the biblical to the secular.  Some classes are "One-Time" experiences while others consume several weeks.  The teachers include church members, Trinity and outside clergy and leaders of our community.  Recent subjects have included: Christianity and Popular Culture, Christian Art, biblical studies, and Christian Theology and Life Here in the Grand Rapids Metro Area.

Sunday Afternoon Adult Education Class  (4:30 PM - 5:30 PM)
The adult education component of our "Gathering" Sunday program is a series of short-term classes that meet from 4:30-5:30, breaking up just in time for the weekly All-Church Dinner.  The content is varied but is generally centered around either a book or a video series with recent classes having included Comparative Religion study, a 6 week review of N.T. Wright's book 'Simply Christian', and Richard Foster's video series Spiritual Discipline

Wednesday Brown Bag Bible Study  (Noon - 1:00 PM)
Bring your appetite, a bag lunch, and your Bible for a time of conversation and study!  Recent studies have been the books of Genesis and the gospel of John.  Currently the class is studying Paul's Letter to the Romans (starting Jan 2).

Wednesday "Drive Time" Class (6:30 PM -7:30 PM)
Some times Sunday just doesn't work schedule wise but a week night alternative may be just the ticket.  This class, which often features video, has a varying subject matter dealing with a variety of topics that have included Discovery Bible Studies, The Parables of Jesus, Hard Questions of the Christian Faith, etc.

Dissident Daughters (A Book Club), Bible Study, Thursday (1:00 PM - 2:30 PM)
Spiritalk (A Book Club), 3rd Sunday of Each Month (4:00 PM - 6:00 PM)
Different times for different needs but the same set of books are covered in both groups.  Come and share with others who love nothing more than to curl up with a good book.  For more information, contact the church office.
