Community Ministries
- Tutoring Program
Trinity has partnered with our local
elementary school, Congress Elementary, located at
940 Baldwin Street SE for more than a decade. We
provide tutoring, mentoring and other supports to
the building our elementary students attend. We
fully participate in the United Way’s FACTS Program
(Families and Communities Together for Students) by
sending church members to Congress to tutor for 30 –
60 minutes each week. We also assist the PTA in
their bi-monthly popcorn sale by popping the corn
and distributing it to the individual classrooms.
The proceeds from these sales directly benefit the
school environment.
Because of our
unique relationship with the school, we are
consistently used as a resource for families in need
of everyday things. We are proud of the fact that
the staff and administrators turn to us during these
times of need. As the children graduate from the
elementary level to the middle school building, we
have followed them in their endeavors academically
and socially. It is our hope to continue with them
throughout their lives!
As we
contemplate the future, we would like to continue
our walk with each child through life’s journey as
we believe together that we can have a lasting,
positive impact on children’s lives and the lives of
everyone in our community. |
